Radio host
Bo Weevul
Bo Weevul, hailing from parts unknown, is the Sultan of Slam, the Prince of Pogo, the King of Scratchy Punk Records. After college radio, I became a radio sportscaster and talk show host. After leaving radio for the wonderful world of public relations, I made my way back as a paranormal talk show host on terrestrial radio before doing it on the interwebz. During that time I also launched a fairly popular narration-based podcast that I still do.

About Bo Weevul
For this year’s WVYL broadcast, I will be bringing back The Punks Are Alright, the show that originally aired on WCVF 88.9 FM in Fredonia, New York from 1993 to 1996. This revival will reconnect with the spirit of the original program while sharing the music and attitude that made it memorable, blending punk energy with a broader mix of influential sounds.
Radio, when done well, is one of the most powerful communication tools available. It offers something that other mediums cannot. It invites listeners to actively participate, not just passively consume. Whether through music, news, or conversation, it creates a shared experience that feels personal and immersive. That potential is what makes great radio so impactful, even today.
My musical influences span a wide range of genres and styles. Some of the artists I return to often include Allan Holdsworth, Tool, Matthew Sweet, Dave Matthews, Black Flag, Reverend Horton Heat, 311, Descendents, and Shootyz Groove, among many others.
There have been many unforgettable live shows over the years, but one that stands out for its sheer intensity was seeing The Tubes. It remains one of the loudest performances I have ever experienced.
